That is a good point. None of the mixes I've done so far have half a beat, but I haven't done a whole lot of mixes yet. > It might maybe be useful to allow a rotation of the entire view, without > affecting the mix itself. Yes, this is very much a "nice to have"-feature, it is not a pressing matter.
Assuming that the startbeat of a bar is always at the top is not quite correct. In many mixes the startbeats drifts up or downwards. Only one song is necessary that skips somewhere a beat or half bar and all the rest would be misaligned again. So from that perspective simply fixing it at the front of the mix will not do. It might maybe be useful to allow a rotation of the entire view, without affecting the mix itself.
Created attachment 20 [details] Misaligned downbeat for first track of mix It's beneficial to have the downbeat of a track as the first horizontal line. This makes it slightly easier to match the downbeat of subsequent tracks with the downbeat of the previous track, and short transitions will sound better if the crossfade ends just before a downbeat rather than in the middle of a bar/measure. When you add a subsequent track you can easily drag up/down the horizontal lines to match the beats, but this is (seemingly) not possible for the first track (as there's no transition at the beginning of the mix). It would be nice if you could add silence to the start of the mix to align the first downbeat at the top of the beatgraph. See attached screenshot for an example of a track where the downbeat of a bar/measure ends up in the middle of the beatgraph. Possibly related issue: http://bpmdj.yellowcouch.org/bugzilla/0
